Open loop -vs-Closed loop

Discussing your options- it's all about YOU

OPEN LOOP:
An open loop system requires 6-12 gpm from your well, depending on the size of unit. A pond or discharge area is needed to contain the discharge water on your property. Open loop systems cost less to install than closed loop systems, but you have no control over what your well brings up. Water quality is important to the heat exchanger as scaling and corrosion are to be avoided. Your maintainance is:
1) wash water filter as needed.
2) wash air filters
CLOSED LOOP:
A closed loop system requires trenching on the property to bury the loop. Water circulates within the sealed loop. A well and pond are not needed. Your water quality is not of importance. The closed loop system costs more than the open loop system to install.
Your maintanence:
1) wash air filters
